Water "pot" of ivy placed in the
top of the shape (where the ivy vines originate from). Thoroughly water
regularly. The foam will only hold a certain amount of water, making it
difficult to over water this plant. Gently rinse the entire shape once a
week. |

A cool area with good air circulation is
best. In winter, an unheated room is ideal. |

These animals are made of a
special foam developed by the Smithers Oasis
company, makers of Oasis ® Floral Foam. The foam has large air pockets that
allow for a proper balance between water holding and aeration needed to
sustain plants. The foam is also structurally stronger than regular floral
foam, allowing the animal to last for a long time. The foam is coated with a
layer of green moss to give it the traditional look of a moss animal shape. A
pot of ivy (including the soil) is placed in a hole on the top of the shape
and the ivy vines are then pinned to the shape. Over time these vines will
root into the foam. |
